Beans with clams

The clams have to be washed well leaving them in salted water for a few hours to release the sands. The recipe can be made with canned beans already cooked, but I did it by cooking the beans. If we do so, you have to soak them from the night before.

Servings 4 serves


  • 500 g bean
  • 1 kg clam
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic clove
  • 1 leaf bay
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 4 tbsp olive oil

Step by step instructions

  • Cook the beans in the following way. Cover them with cold water and wait for them to boil. When they have released the foam, drain them, wash them and put them back to cook, also in cold water and with a laurel leaf. The cooking will take 30 to 40 minutes. If it is necessary to add more water, it should always be cold. Drain and reserve.
  • In a pan with oil put to sauté the cloves of garlic and onion, finely chopped.
  • When they are stir-fried, add the paprika, lowering the heat so that it does not burn.
  • Then add a tablespoon of flour and stir fry so it does not taste raw. This will prevent the sauce from getting too watery.
  • Add the clams and wait for them to open.
  • Finally add the beans and mix well, but carefully so they do not break too much.
  • Turn off the heat, cover the pan and let rest a few minutes.
